Seychelles: Building the case for a direct flight from India

Tourism Seychelles · 2021 onwards

Seychelles: Building the case for a direct flight from India

The Challenge

India’s outbound travel was growing, but Seychelles wasn’t capturing its share. Direct connectivity was limited to a few Air Seychelles flights a week.

Our Approach

Since 2022, we built the business case (Mahé searches up 356% on Skyscanner) for India market potential with IndiGo. This was also backed by alignment with DMCs, hotels and trade that would provide sustainable ground support.

Indigo airlines was eventually convinced with a sustainable business route between Mumbai and Mahe that addressed the connectivity issue.

IndiGo Mumbai–Mahé, launched 22 Mar 2025

  • 4x weekly IndiGo flights
  • +75% YoY growth in Indian arrivals, 2024–25
  • +50% growth in arrivals in the launch quarter
  • 260+ media features 2023-25
